Most businesses wait until the sales call to start selling.
By that point, the prospect still has questions.
They still have doubts.
They still want proof.
They still need reassurance.
That makes the sales conversation longer and gives the salesperson more objections to handle.
A better approach is to answer those questions before the call even starts.
You can do that with a simple three-part email sequence designed to build trust, provide proof, and prime the prospect to say yes.
The Goal Is to Build Trust Before the Decision
Once someone has reached the point where they are interested in your offer, you already have momentum.
They may have:
- requested more information
- booked a sales call
- asked to see your offer
- reached the sales stage of your pipeline
- shown clear buying intent
At this point, you do not need to keep bombarding them with generic marketing.
You need to reduce uncertainty.
The objective is simple:
Answer their questions before they have to ask them.
That makes the eventual decision much easier.
Email 1: Show Them Your Process
The first email should contain a short video.
You can think of it as a video sales letter, but it should not feel like an aggressive sales pitch.
It should feel authentic.
A simple 5 to 15 minute video is enough.
You could record it:
- at your desk
- on your webcam
- without fancy lighting
- without a studio
- without heavy editing
The goal is not production quality.
The goal is clarity.
Show Them How You Get From A to B
The video should explain:
A = where the prospect is now
and:
B = where they want to be
Then show them how your process gets them there.
For example:
Current problem
↓
Step 1
↓
Step 2
↓
Step 3
↓
Desired outcome
You are giving the prospect a clear roadmap.
Explain What Makes Your Process Different
You can also explain what is unique about the way you work.
Maybe you have:
- a proprietary framework
- a specific methodology
- a unique process
- a different way of solving the problem
- a system competitors do not use
You do not need to attack competitors.
You simply explain:
“This is how we do it, and this is why it works.”
Sprinkle in Proof
As you explain the process, mention relevant results.
For example:
“We used this process to help this client achieve X.”
Then continue with the explanation.
You are not shouting:
“Look how amazing we are.”
You are simply showing that the process has already worked for people like them.
Make Sure the Prospect Is Actually a Fit
The video can also help disqualify the wrong people.
If your process is specifically designed for manufacturing businesses, say that clearly.
If someone watching the video is in a completely unrelated market, they may realize the offer is not right for them.
That is not a problem.
It saves everyone time.
You do not want to constantly adapt your offer for people outside the audience you know you can help.
Email 2: Send Relevant Case Studies
The next email should reinforce the proof.
Send it around 24 to 48 hours later, depending on your sales process.
This time, focus on case studies.
The message can be very simple:
“Here are three examples of how we helped businesses like yours go from X to Y.”
Then link to the case studies.
Show the Transformation
A strong case study should make the journey obvious.
For example:
Before: struggling with X
Process: implemented Y
After: achieved Z
You want the prospect to see someone similar to themselves and think:
“That is exactly where we are now.”
Repetition Is Fine
You may already have mentioned some of these results in the video.
That is not a problem.
The video may only reference them briefly.
The case study gives the prospect the opportunity to explore:
- the full story
- screenshots
- results
- implementation details
- supporting evidence
You are reinforcing the same belief from another angle.
Email 3: Send Testimonials and Reviews
The final email should focus on reassurance.
Now send testimonials and reviews.
At this stage, the prospect already knows:
- what your process is
- how it works
- what kind of results it can produce
Now they get confirmation from the people who actually experienced it.
Let Your Clients Do the Selling
You might include:
- three strong testimonials
- review screenshots
- video testimonials
- star ratings
- quotes from relevant clients
The message is effectively:
“You have seen the process. You have seen the results. Here is what the people who went through it said.”
That adds another layer of trust.
Trust → Proof → Reassurance
The three-email sequence becomes:
Email 1: Process
↓
Email 2: Case Studies
↓
Email 3: Testimonials
Or more simply:
Trust
↓
Proof
↓
Confirmation
By the time the prospect reaches the sales call or offer page, they have already answered many of their own questions.
Prime Them to Say Yes
This is the real purpose of the sequence.
You are not trying to pressure someone into buying.
You are removing uncertainty.
You are repeatedly confirming:
“You are in the right place.”
“We understand your problem.”
“We have a process to solve it.”
“We have done it before.”
“Other people were happy with the result.”
That makes the buying decision much easier.
Sales Calls Become Shorter
When prospects arrive without any preparation, the salesperson has to explain everything.
They may need to cover:
- how the process works
- what makes it different
- whether it works
- who it works for
- previous results
- client experiences
That takes time.
If the prospect has already seen all of that before the call, the conversation can move much faster.
Better Prepared Prospects Create Better Conversations
Instead of spending most of the call educating them, you can focus on:
- their specific situation
- their goals
- whether they are a fit
- next steps
That can make sales conversations:
- shorter
- more focused
- easier
- more productive
It can also allow your sales team to handle more conversations.
Ask Whether They Watched the Video
When the sales call starts, ask:
“Did you get a chance to watch the video I sent over?”
If they say yes, great.
Continue.
If they say no, it may actually be worth having them watch it before going deeper into the call.
Position It Around Saving Their Time
Do not say:
“I need you to watch this because it saves me explaining it.”
Say something closer to:
“It will make this conversation much easier and save you time because it walks through the process clearly.”
Keep the benefit focused on them.
Use the Same System Without Sales Calls
This process still works if you do not use sales calls.
Instead, the sequence could lead toward:
- a sales page
- an offer document
- an application
- a checkout page
The principle remains the same.
Before asking the prospect to make the decision, give them:
Process
Proof
Testimonials
Then show them the offer.
Automate the Entire Sequence
The best part is that this only needs to be built once.
When someone reaches the correct stage in your pipeline, your CRM can automatically send:
Email 1
↓
wait
↓
Email 2
↓
wait
↓
Email 3
↓
Sales call or offer
Once it is set up, every suitable prospect goes through the same trust-building process.
Build the Assets Once
The main pieces you need are:
- one short process video
- several strong case studies
- several testimonials or reviews
- three simple emails
That is it.
You do not need to create something new every time a prospect enters the sales process.
Stop Waiting for the Sales Call to Sell
A prospect should not arrive at the sales conversation with dozens of unanswered questions.
The work should already have started.
Before the call or offer:
show them the process
↓
show them the proof
↓
show them what clients say
Then let the sales conversation confirm the fit and move them forward.
Close More Sales Before the Call Even Starts
If you want to improve conversion without simply generating more leads, look at what happens immediately before the sale.
Send prospects:
- A short video explaining your process
- Relevant case studies showing the results
- Testimonials confirming the experience
By the time they reach the sales call or offer, they should already understand:
- what you do
- how you do it
- why it works
- who it works for
- what results are possible
- whether people like them have succeeded
That means fewer objections, shorter sales cycles, and a prospect who is much more prepared to say yes.
